THX Home Theater Education Program

Tuesday, April 17, 2007 - Thursday, April 19, 2007   Embassy Suites Hotel Las Vegas   Tel: (702) 795-2800   4315 Swenson Street   Las Vegas,  NV 89119  USA   The THX Home Theater Education Program is organized into two sections: Tech I and Tech II.  THX Certified Home Theater Technician I was developed for those who work in the consumer electronics business who wish to know more about THX, a well-designed home theater, and THX’s end to end, production to presentation programs for consumer entertainment. Each Tech I session is limited to 30 people. Technician I - $500 [ one-day, classroom ] Introduction to THX THX Performance Standards THX Home Theater Technologies THX Certified Home Theater Program THX DVD program with THX Optimizer THX Game program THX Automobile program   Introduction to small room acoustics. home theater design, setup, confirmation and calibration Marketing Your THX Certification THX Certified Home Theater Technician II was developed for anyone currently in or planning a career in home theater design, testing, and calibration. Tech II must have completed the Tech I level and have a reasonable working knowledge of audio and video technologies. Each Tech II session is limited to 12 people. Technician II - $1500 [ Tech I class ($500), plus two additional days ($1000) ] Day One, Classroom Acoustics Room Isolation Room Treatments Design Audio hardware Audio placement Video hardware Video placement Seating Placement Control system design Project management Day Two, hands on workshop System setup Signal assignment Signal bandwidth and level Signal purity Aiming and positioning speakers Acoustic room treatment Calibration (audio only) Source products Controller functions EQ Final reporting THX Education Events include lunch on each day of the training. Students must cover travel costs including airfare, hotels, and transportation, as well as breakfast and dinner.  THX will provide all necessary classroom and workshop material, a certificate of completion and a cool THX gift.   Each day is scheduled to end at 6pm; however sessions may run longer depending upon the length of Q&As.  If possible, flights should be scheduled the day before and the day after the training.  Please register as soon as possible as space is limited.  Registration closes one week prior to the event start.
